"If you are like me and love idombolo, the Instant Pot pressure is what you need. Making steamed bread has never been this easier and delicious".
Ingredients:
4 cups cake flour
1 packet of yeast
1/2 cup of sugar
2 grated carrots
2 tbsp mixed herbs
500ml warm water
Method:
In a bowl mix together all your ingredients and start adding water gradually (you may use a hand mixer/stand mixer or your hand to knead the dough), keep adding the water in small batches until your dough starts to come together( you may need to add a little bit more flour if your dough is too sticky).
Knead the dough for 5 - 7 minutes until it starts pulling away from the sides of the bowl and forms a smooth ball. Transfer the dough into a clean lightly oiled bowl cover with plastic wrap or a clean dish towel and leave to rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size, knock the dough down then portion into ramekins/cups (do not overfill the dough will continue to rise). Place a trivet into your pressure cooker then place the ramekins inside the pot followed by hot water (the water should cover only half of the ramekin/cup you're using, close the pot then set it to steam for 45 minutes on high heat
Once done release the steam until the indicator drops then wait an extra 2 minutes before you open the pressure cooker. Remove the steamed bread and place them on a cooling rack (while they are still in the cups/ramekins) cover with a clean cloth and allow them to cool slightly before unmolding and serving.
