"Entertaining made easy,a hearty pepper steak pie with all the bells and whistles. This recipe is so simple, requires a few ingredients and all the hard work is taken care of by the Instant Pot Pro and Vortex Air Fryer".
Creamy pepper steak pies:
Ingredients:
750g pie steak cut into bite sized pieces
1 onion diced fine
2 tablespoons ghee/oil
1 tablespoon crushed garlic
1 tablespoon crushed green chilli (add more if you want spicy)
250ml stock of choice
2 tablespoons cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoon fine black pepper
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 sprigs of fresh thyme
125ml fresh cream
1 tablespoons tomato paste
Method:
1. Place your Instant Pot on the sauté mode, add in your ghee/oil, when hot add in your onions and thyme. Allow onions to turn translucent. When translucent add in your meat, garlic and crushed green chillies. Cook until liquid starts to dry up.
2. At this stage add in your pepper and salt with your Worcestershire sauce, stock and tomato paste, mix well. Place lid on your pot and make sure that it is sealed. Cook on the beef function for 20 minutes. When done open the vent and release the pressure. Add in your cream and place back onto sauté for a few minutes to dry up the liquid.
3. Allow filling to cool completely. I added a teaspoon of leftover mashed potato to the base of each pie, then topped with the creamy pepper steak filling, seal your pie, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle over sesame seeds. Bake the pies in an Instant Vortex air fryer at 180C for 15 minutes.
