A good balance of sweet & spicy to kickstart your weekend. These chicken winglets are definitely a crowd pleaser, super tasty and easy to make.
Ingredients:
Spicy sticky winglets (Alternatively, plain winglets lightly seasoned with cajun spice, pinch of salt then set aside for 15 minutes. Lightly coat with sweetchili sauce mixed with a dash of olive oil.
For best results refrigerate for at least 20min or overnight.
Sauce ingredients:
¼ cup sweet chili
¼ cup coke
1 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp chili flakes
1 cinammon stick
½ tsp blended black pepper or regular freshly cracked black pepper with a pinch of cayenne Pepper
Pinch of salt
For extra sauce, double above measurements.
Method:
Place your wings in the airfyer tray and airfry for 15 minutes at 180 °C (the airfryer will prompt you to turn the wings halfway through cooking). While wings are cooking, prepare your sauce by combining all your sauce ingredients in a bowl. Set your Instant Pot on a saute mode, add your sauce combination, mix well and allow to simmer. Allow sauce to simmer for about 2 minutes, once thickened remove cinnamon stick and set aside.
Once wings are cooked, transfer to a large bowl and pour the sauce over the wings (reserve a ¼ of the sauce for dipping). Toss wings in sauce and ensure that they are generously coated.
Optional: serve with a dusting of toasted sesame seeds and chopped chives and enjoy with a squeeze of lime, extra sauce reserved for dipping and a side of your choice.
